The blood is placed into specialized tubes and spun in a centrifuge at a low relative centrifugation force (approximately 200 g). This low-speed approach is critical: it preserves a higher concentration of platelets, leukocytes, and mesenchymal stem cells within the fibrin matrix, rather than pelleting them to the bottom of the tube as higher-speed protocols do.

Autologous Source

All material is derived entirely from the patient's own blood. There are no synthetic polymers, no cross-linking agents, and no animal-derived components. Because the preparation is autologous, the risk of allergic or hypersensitivity reaction is essentially eliminated.

Low-Speed Centrifugation

Because EZ Gel is derived from your own blood, the risk profile is meaningfully different from synthetic injectables. There is no risk of allergic reaction to the PRF material itself. However, as with any injectable treatment, there are risks associated with the injection process.

Common side effects include temporary bruising, swelling, and redness at injection sites — these typically resolve within 3–7 days. The under-eye area is particularly prone to bruising due to the delicate vasculature in that region; patients should plan accordingly before social events.

What to Expect

Before Your Treatment

Your consultation — always complimentary at Maison Zolara — includes a review of your medical history, a discussion of your aesthetic goals, and an assessment of your facial anatomy. You will be advised to avoid blood-thinning medications (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and fish oil) for approximately one week prior to treatment to minimize bruising risk. A small blood draw (typically 20–40 mL) is performed in our treatment suite. Your blood is processed in the centrifuge — the entire preparation takes approximately 12–15 minutes. While the PRF is being processed, the treatment area is cleansed and a topical numbing cream may be applied. The EZ Gel is then injected using fine needles or cannulas, depending on the treatment area and your clinician's technique. Most patients describe the sensation as mild pressure with occasional brief discomfort. The injection portion of the appointment typically takes 15–30 minutes. Total appointment time is approximately 45–60 minutes.

Expect mild swelling, redness, and possible bruising for 3–7 days following treatment. The under-eye area may appear slightly puffy for up to 10 days.
